Japan debut solo artists

Japanese entertainment industry is really huge and many Korean groups have already made their debuts in Japan.

Today I would like to introduce some solo artists who debut in Japan.

  • BoA

BoA debuted in Korea in 2000 and debuted in Japan in 2001. After that all her albums are released with both Korean and Japanese versions. In 2008, she also debuted in U.S.A and became worldwide known.

  • Nicole Jung

Nicole was an ex-member of KARA, which is one of the most popular K-Pop girl groups in Japan. She quitted the group after the expiration of her contract with her entertainment company.

She became a solo singer and debuted in Japan in 2015.

  • Kang Jiyoung

Jiyoung is another ex-member of KARA and she also quitted the group after the expiration of her contract with her entertainment company.

The difference is that she directly debuted in Japan as an actress instead of becoming a solo singer in Korea. Recently, she debuted in Japan as a singer, using the name JY.
